Text Analysis of Gun Control Act of 1968

This is a text visualization of the Gun Control Act of 1968, the first federal gun control legislation. This legislation was to deal with the sale of firearms, most importantly inter-state commerce, and created a licensure mechanism for gun dealers.

The visualization shows the most common words are firearm, person, licensed, ammunition, state, and law. These words show what the act was about, but doesn't show exactly how the act work. The 1968 law has also a bit outdated as the provisions in the law do not take new technology, like databasing software and fingerprint recognition, into account for tracking gun purchasers. There are more federal laws that have been implemented since this one, this was just the first.
